INTRIGUE
It’s time for me to let Miriam’s Dive sail into the world.
The inspiration for my novel came years ago when my family and I lived in Seattle. My dear friend Jean introduced me to another woman named Jeanne whose expertise was teaching dance/ movement therapy. I decided to jump in and take a course with Jeanne. One day she mentioned that she had followed the path of the Black Madonna. Huh, I thought. What in the world is that? I was intrigued. Below you’ll read a snippet from the novel that I hope will entice you to read more.
“The female statue, no more than twenty inches high, held a stillness about Her. This female was standing her ground. What have you seen? I wanted to ask Her. Do you stand for all the women whose voices have been silenced? On this day that began with giddy lightness between me and my dear friend, the tides of mystery rushed in to fill me with questions. More than ever before the Black Madonna crawled her way deeply into my soul, the way a long curling root seeks nourishment and water from the soil.”
