WINGS
Miriam creates a sculpture she names: Holy Woman, Emerging. The figure is entirely made of metals and has huge copper wings. The figure hangs suspended in air below a circular skylight. There are no discernable lines attaching Her to anything of air or earth; She is complete in herself. A breath of air whispers to turn her muscular body around slowly, magically, so the viewer is invited to witness all aspects of Her. Flickering candles on the walls shimmer light upon the Woman’s copper body. The wavering light invokes dawn, then fire, then dusk, then inky midnight.
